Buttermilk Park Playground: A Community Partnership!

The new Buttermilk Park playground is a collaborative project between the City of Fond du Lac and Burke Playground Equipment, also of Fond du Lac. In spring 2024, the Park Department and Burke Playground Equipment met to determine the ideal location for this new play space. The City prioritized a spot that’s both easily accessible and highly visible, making it perfect for families attending concerts at the park, as well as all other park visitors. This inclusive playground features wheelchair access, a rubberized surface, and Burke’s newest play pieces designed for children ages 2 to 15. Buttermilk Creek Park is located 753 S Park Avenue.

Russell Park: New Playground Arrives!

Great news for families in Fond du Lac! Russell Park, already home to two baseball diamonds, now features a brand-new, baseball-themed playground. The idea for a playground at Russell Park came from local citizens and was championed by Park Watch, a local park advocacy group, after they observed a need for a play area for young children in the neighborhood. The City of Fond du Lac responded by budgeting for the project in 2024. The Parks Department collaborated with Burke Playground Equipment to design the new play area, which was completed in 2024. Landscaping around the playground will be finished in 2025. Additionally, a new sidewalk connecting Ashland Avenue to the playground will be installed in the near future, making it even more accessible. Russell Park is located 472 E 2nd Street.
