The Fond du Lac Area Foundation is proud to announce the launch of The Great Giveback Fond du Lac, a new county-wide giving event designed to inspire generosity, celebrate local nonprofits, and strengthen philanthropy throughout Fond du Lac County.
The 24-hour event will take place from 12:00 p.m. on February 17, 2027, through 12:00 p.m. on February 18, 2027, bringing the community together around a shared goal of supporting local organizations that make our communities stronger.
The Great Giveback Fond du Lac will feature 30 nonprofit organizations serving Fond du Lac County, all working together through a single online giving platform that makes charitable giving simple, accessible, and impactful. The initiative is organized by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation as part of its mission to create a stronger community through philanthropy, effective grantmaking, and community leadership.
What Is a Giving Day?
For many community members, The Great Giveback may be their first experience with a giving day. A giving day is a coordinated fundraising event that encourages people to support local causes during a set period of time. Instead of each nonprofit fundraising separately, organizations come together under one campaign to raise awareness, engage donors, and generate support for important community needs. The Great Giveback Fond du Lac creates one place where donors can learn about participating nonprofits, explore their missions, and make gifts to the causes they care about most. Whether someone gives $10, $100, or more, every contribution helps strengthen the organizations serving local families, children, seniors, and communities.
What Makes The Great Giveback Different?
Unlike many giving days that allow unlimited participation, The Great Giveback Fond du Lac will intentionally feature a curated group of 30 Fond du Lac County nonprofit organizations representing a broad range of community needs. This approach helps participating organizations receive greater visibility and donor engagement while allowing donors to learn more about each organization’s mission and impact.
More Than a Fundraiser
While fundraising is an important part of the event, The Great Giveback is also designed to help residents discover the many nonprofits working every day to improve life in Fond du Lac County. Participating organizations will share stories about their impact, programs, and community outcomes, giving donors a deeper understanding of local needs and opportunities. The event will also feature coordinated marketing campaigns, nonprofit spotlights, community partnerships, and social media engagement to build excitement and celebrate local generosity.
Another unique feature is the event’s partnership with National Exchange Bank & Trust (NEBAT). Through this collaboration, the event will include significant matching funds and Business Boost opportunities that help amplify donor contributions. As a result, gifts made during the event can have an even greater impact on participating nonprofits and the people they serve.

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation was established with one fund from a contribution of $50,000 from the disbanded Fond du Lac Children’s Home in 1975. The Foundation now has more than $60 million in assets and nearly 600 funds, each representing unique charitable interests.
