Marian University men’s soccer (2-2-1, 0-0-0 NACC) scored early in the second half, but couldn’t hold off Carroll, losing by a score of 3-1. . 
 

• Carroll opened up the scoring, as Iskander Sharipov centered a goal off the left side in the 20th minute. 
• One minute later, Marti Solanelles scored off a corner kick to make it 2-0. 
• Marian recorded their first shot at 28:08 from senior Nathan Blazenko, who had two shots in the half, but ultimately went into the break down 2-0. 
• At 51:15, sophomore Brayden Johnson scored in his second straight game, a left side header off a free kick from sophomore Kairo Machuca. 
• Solanelles of the Pioneers scored his second goal of the game at 59:32, as Carroll would win, 3-1. 

• Marian trailed Carroll in shots by a considerable 25-9 margin, including 10-2 in shots on goal. 
• Marian recorded seven saves, with six coming from sophomore Connor Farrell, compared to Carroll’s one. 
• The Sabres led in corner kicks, 4-3, with all four coming in the second half. 
• Today’s goal ended a five-game scoreless stretch against Carroll, dating back to 2005’s 1-1 tie. 
• The Sabres are 1-9-1 all-time against the Pioneers, with this loss extending their series losing streak to six games. 

	Sophomore Brayden Johnson carried his momentum over from the last game, scoring the only goal of the game for the Sabres.
	Sophomore Connor Farrell (0-0-0) once again subbed in for the second half and tallied a season-high six saves.
	Senior Nathan Blazenko had a team-high four shots, including one on goal.
