Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training
February 20 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training is a nationally recognized curriculum for assisting community on how to better respond to – and hopefully reduce – power-based violence. Through tools that assist all comfort levels and personality types, participants learn how to do something when faced with situations where domestic violence, child abuse or sexual assault may be occurring in front of them. This project is part of the Fond du Lac Says No More initiative, which was adopted in 2018 to make Fond du Lac County safer for all women and children living and working here.
About the Presenters
Erin Flood is an educator and mother of two. After spending 15 years as a high school English teacher and then a Principal, Erin now dedicates her time to raising her children, blogging about the experiences that unite us, and working as an advocate for women and children in the community. A dedicated volunteer for Mahala’s Hope, The Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund, and the Boys and Girls Club of Fond du Lac, Erin’s passion for helping others achieve more than they think they are capable of, is alive in her community work.
Maria Turner is the Executive Director for the Women’s Fund, a position she took in March 2019 as the next step in her 13 years of previous nonprofit experiences in domestic violence, child abuse prevention and job training/placement for at-risk populations. Maria holds a bachelor’s degree from Carroll University and certificate in Entrepreneurship from Fox Valley Technical College. She just completed her Green Dot trainer certification in Missouri in December, with this being her first training facilitation!
