Junior goalkeeper Nathan Espinosa of Marian University men’s soccer has been selected as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.

Espinosa (Mundelein, Ill.) had a busy week leading Marian to ties against UW-Whitewater and Lawrence.  Espinosa opened the week with a 10-save performance against UWW only allowing one goal in a 1-1 draw.  The result was just the third all-time for Marian against the Warhawks and the first since 2001.  He then made seven saves only allowing two goals in a 2-2 stalemate against Lawrence.  The draw pushed the Marian unbeaten streak against the Vikings to seven games.
