Envision Greater Fond du Lac recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new ownership of Central Barber, a longtime downtown Fond du Lac business and valued Envision member.

Located at 4 N. Main Street, Central Barber has been a fixture in the Fond du Lac community for generations. The shop’s history dates back decades, including ownership by Dick Berenz beginning in 1960 and later by Gary “Red” Muellenbach, who purchased the business in 1990. On May 30, 2025, Muellenbach officially passed the torch to new owner Vanessa Werner.

Today, Central Barber continues its tradition of providing quality barbering services and welcoming conversation with a team that includes Werner, Karissa Dums, Danielle West, and Muellenbach himself, who remains active behind the chair.

While many customers remember the shop’s longtime sports-themed décor, Werner has introduced an outdoors-inspired atmosphere that reflects her passion for hunting and fishing. The refreshed space blends new energy with the classic barbershop experience that has made Central Barber a trusted destination in downtown Fond du Lac.
