Envision Greater Fond du Lac joined Horicon Bank to celebrate two milestones at the Waupun location: the bank’s 130th anniversary and the unveiling of a new sculpture. Community members, business leaders, and bank staff gathered to enjoy food and music, marking 130 years of Horicon Bank serving its customers and communities.
Horicon State Bank was founded in 1896 by Daniel C. Van Brunt in Horicon, Wisconsin. Renamed Horicon Bank in 2004, it has grown well beyond its hometown, with offices stretching throughout Wisconsin. Horicon Bank came to Waupun through its 2019 merger with Markesan State Bank and today offers a full range of personal and business banking, as well as trust services.
The newly unveiled sculpture, “Oxbow,” now stands as a lasting addition to the Waupun community. The unveiling adds to a proud local tradition. Waupun is known as the “City of Sculpture,” with public works displayed throughout the city, including James Earle Fraser’s well-known “End of the Trail.” Horicon Bank’s new piece continues that legacy and gives residents and visitors one more reason to explore Waupun.
“Reaching 130 years is a rare milestone for any business. Horicon Bank has kept its community-first roots while growing across the region and is a strong partner to Envision and to businesses throughout Fond du Lac County. We’re proud to celebrate that legacy with them in Waupun,” said Joe Venhuizen, Vice President of Membership and Resource Development at Envision.
Ribbon cuttings are one of the ways Envision recognizes its investors and celebrates business milestones throughout Fond du Lac County. Envision congratulates Horicon Bank on 130 years and thanks everyone who came out to celebrate.
