Empeople Credit Union welcomes new Vice President, Business Development to leadership team

Empeople Credit Union ($2.28B) is excited to welcome Mitch Kahl, a Fond du Lac native and long-time business leader in the community, as their new vice president of business development in Wisconsin.

Kahl previously served as a business development consultant for Empeople after the credit union’s 2024 acquisition of TSB Bank, where he served as a board member for over a decade.

In his full-time role, Kahl will lead business development for Empeople in the Wisconsin market, driving new employer partnerships, commercial banking relationships, and awareness of the credit union within the community.

“I am thrilled to have Mitch Kahl on board as a leader in the Wisconsin market,” said Kurt Lewin, president and CEO of Empeople Credit Union.

“His experience as a respected business leader in Fond du Lac gives him a deep understanding of the businesses and residents in Wisconsin; he’s well-positioned to help us grow our membership and our business relationships in this market,” Lewin added.

Prior to joining Empeople Credit Union, Kahl spent nearly three decades in the insurance and finance industries focused on strengthening the regional business landscape. He served as president of insurance operations & operational leadership for Hometown Bank’s insurance division, and was the owner and president of Jackson Kahl Insurance Agency, beginning in 2009 through the successful sale of the business in 2019.

Kahl lives in Fond du Lac, where he is an active member of the community. A previous president of the Fond du Lac Home Builders Association, Kahl has long supported economic development and the construction industry in the region and looks forward to doing so in this new capacity.
