Dr. Don Steward Retires After 41 Years of Compassionate Pediatric Care in Fond du Lac

Aurora Health Care announces the retirement of Dr. Donald (Don) C. Steward, MD, a beloved pediatrician who has devoted 41 years to caring for children and families in the Fond du Lac community.

Dr. Steward, who has been practicing pediatrics for more than four decades, has spent his career providing comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents at Aurora Pediatrics in Fond du Lac. Over the years, he has earned a reputation for his compassionate approach, strong relationships with families, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

“Caring for children and supporting families has been an incredible privilege,” said Dr. Steward. “I am deeply grateful for the trust that parents have placed in me over the years and for the opportunity to watch so many of my patients grow up.”

Patients and families consistently describe Dr. Steward as attentive, compassionate, and deeply invested in the well-being of every child he treated. Many families have trusted him across generations, with former patients returning with children of their own.

Dr. Steward earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his pediatric training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with Aurora Health Care and has practiced in Fond du Lac as well as surrounding communities.

Dr. Steward has made an extraordinary impact on the health and lives of countless families. His dedication, kindness, and commitment to pediatric care truly embody Aurora’s mission. He will be greatly missed by colleagues, patients, and the community.
