Discover Kanopy, FDLPL’s New, Free Streaming Service

Love great movies, series and documentaries, and wish you could stream them at home for free?

Kanopy, a free streaming service newly available through the Fond du Lac Public Library, enables everyone with a library card from FDLPL to do exactly that.

Kanopy streams thoughtful entertainment to your preferred device with no fees and no commercials by partnering with public libraries such as the Fond du Lac Public Library. Everyone from film scholars to casual viewers will discover remarkable and enriching films on Kanopy.

Viewing movies and more through Kanopy is easy. Sign up at fdlpl.kanopy.com, and then watch on your preferred device. Mobile apps are available for Apple, Android and Kindle Fire devices; Kanopy also may be accessed on smart televisions and connected devices. Streaming content is available for all ages and interests. In addition to movies and series for adult viewers, Kanopy Kids includes countless shows to enrich a child’s growth, while The Great Courses provides educational content for teens and adults.

With a FDLPL library card, Kanopy users have five free viewing credits to watch movies and series. Users also may watch an additional five selections of The Great Courses, and may watch Kanopy Kids all month without using a viewing credit.

Fond du Lac Public Library operates two locations: the Main Library at 32 Sheboygan St. in downtown Fond du Lac, and FDLPL Express at 1132 E. Johnson St. near Festival Foods. The main library is open daily: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Chapter 52 Bookstore at 52 Sheboygan St. is open Monday through Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while FDLPL Express is open weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
