Envision Greater Fond du Lac will honor Mark Diederichs and Joe Truesdale as 2016 “Volunteers of the Year” during a Recognition Luncheon on November 9 at the Holiday Inn Fond du Lac.

“The volunteer awards have been a longstanding community tradition carried forward from the Association of Commerce,” stated Cecilia Harry, President and CEO, Envision Greater Fond du Lac. “Our volunteers are critical to the success of our organization’s programming and we are honored to recognize these two outstanding individuals.”

Mark Diederichs, CEO at Lake Breeze Dairy, LLC, has generously given of his time and talents to ensure the success of many Envision Greater Fond du Lac programs. His passion for the organization and the agriculture industry is evident through his involvement. He currently serves on Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Board of Directors, the Agri-Business Council’s Board of Directors, and the Agricultural Ambassador Program’s Board of Directors. Furthermore, his volunteer service includes: former volunteer fireman, Town of Calumet Fire Department; former board member and past president, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin; Holyland Food Pantry; board member, Professional Dairy Producers Foundation; member, St. Peter’s Lions Club; board member, Farm Bureau; Finance committee member, New Holstein FFA Alumni; event volunteer, St. Isidro the Farmer Parish; fundraising volunteer, Ag Education Center; and Fond du Lac Music Parents. Mark’s service extends far beyond his community through his involvement in the Fond du Lac Alzheimer’s Walk, raising funds in honor of his mother.

Joe Truesdale, Marketing Account Manager at wisnet.com, has exhibited seemingly endless passion and energy through his involvement with the Young Professionals of Fond du Lac and beyond, leaving a lasting legacy in the greater Fond du Lac area. His current volunteer engagements include: member and past president, YPF Board of Directors; member, YPF Marketing Committee; member, Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac Board of Directors; organizer, Pop-Up Fond du Lac; organizer and emcee, TEDxFondduLac; and committee member, Fond du Lac Redevelopment Authority.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Fond du Lac. In addition to the volunteer recognition, Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s President and CEO, Cecilia Harry, will provide a state of the organization address highlighting the organization’s first 100 days.
