Clarey selected as CFHC Defensive Player of the Week

Junior Emilee Clarey of Marian University field hockey has been selected as the CFHC Defensive Player of the Week.

Clarey (New Hartford, N.Y.) continued to anchor a Sabre defense that has found its stride down the homestretch of the season.  She made 13 saves on the weekend as Marian was narrowly edged by Rhodes 1-0 before defeating Sewanee 2-1.  Clarey made five saves against the Lynx and followed that up with eight saves against the Tigers to give herself a .867 save percentage for the weekend.  She enters the final weekend of the regular season second in the conference for goals-against average and third for save percentage.
