City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update

The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.

All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent. 

2026 Mill & Overlay Program
Schedule: July 20 through Mid-September
Description: The project includes manhole adjustments, spot curb and gutter replacement, milling pavement, and overlay of asphalt.
August 24 to August 28: The concrete contractor will continue curb and gutter replacement on Vine St, 19th St, and 17th St. Milling operations are complete on Seymour St and the contactor is scheduled to pave Seymour Street midweek.

Project Locations:

  • 17th Street: From Vine Street, west to Dead End
  • 19th Street: From Park Avenue, east to Bruce Street
  • Vine Street: From 13th Street to 19th Street
  • Seymour Street: From Grove Street to north of the Military Road Intersection

Traffic Impacts: Streets will remain open to traffic; however, motorists may experience delays during this project. Local traffic and driveway access will remain available whenever possible.

Stow Street Bridge
Schedule: June 17 through September 15
Description: 0.034-mile project involving removals, grading, aggregate, asphalt pavement, structure replacement, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, storm sewer, erosion control, traffic control, and restoration.
August 24 to August 28: The contractor will finish installing structure backfill, install storm sewer, and grade throughout project.
Traffic Impacts: Stow Street is CLOSED to pedestrian and vehicle traffic through the duration of the project.

Western Avenue – Military Road to Main Street
Macy Street – Court Street to Western Avenue
Schedule: April 27 through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, traffic signals and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: The sewer contractor will continue with sanitary sewer installation on Western Avenue between bridge and Macy street intersection.  
Traffic Impacts: Western Avenue is closed to traffic between the Macy St & Oak St. Residents, business owners, jurors and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Elm Street – South Street to Western Avenue
Schedule: August through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of water main and laterals, partial roadway, and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: No work anticipated.
Traffic Impacts: Elm Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Morris Street – W. 9th Street to W. 12th Street
Schedule: May through September
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: The grading contractor will remove sidewalk and driveways throughout project. Electrical contractor will finish installing conduit.
Traffic Impacts: Morris Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Griffith Street – Morris Street to east dead end
Schedule: August through September
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of water main and laterals, partial roadway, and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: The grading contractor may begin road excavation later in the week.
Traffic Impacts: Griffith Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Emma Street – S. Seymour Street to east dead end
Schedule: August through September
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of water main and laterals, partial roadway, and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: No work anticipated.
Traffic Impacts: Emma Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Drury Place – Hillcrest Lane to Seymour Street
Schedule: August through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of water main and laterals, partial roadway, and restoration/landscaping.
August 24 to August 28: The Sewer contractor will begin with water main tie in at Seymour Street. They will then switch over to Storm Sewer Main installation.
Traffic Impacts: Drury Place is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Prairie Rd/Campus Dr/University Dr – Utility Installation

  • University Drive from Johnson St to Campus Dr – Water main & sanitary sewer installation
  • Campus Drive from University Dr to Prairie Rd – Water main & storm sewer installation
  • Prairie Road – Water main installation

August 24 to August 28: The utility contractor will continue sanitary sewer installation on University Dr near Campus Dr.
Traffic Impacts: Streets will remain open to traffic; however, motorists may experience delays during this project. Local traffic and driveway access will remain available whenever possible.

CTH K – STH 23 to USH 151
Schedule: May through August
Description: Fond du Lac County Highway Dept in partnership with the City of Fond du Lac are reconstructing this segment of CTH K. The construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete curb & gutter, asphalt roadway, permanent signing, and other incidentals.
August 24 to August 28: Fond du Lac County will completed asphalt paving and will continue with restoration.
Traffic Impacts: CTH K between STH 23 and USH 151 is closed to traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. 

Pioneer Road – CTH V to Fond du Lac Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: Fond du Lac County Highway Dept in partnership with the City of Fond du Lac are reconstructing this segment of Pioneer Road. The construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter, asphalt roadway, roadway lighting, permanent signing, and other incidentals.
August 24 to August 28: The County will continue roadway excavation.
Traffic Impacts: Pioneer Road between CTH V and Fond du Lac Avenue is closed to traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
