The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.
All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent.
Pioneer Road – CTH V to Fond du Lac Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: Fond du Lac County Highway Dept in partnership with the City of Fond du Lac are reconstructing this segment of Pioneer Road. The construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter, asphalt roadway, roadway lighting, permanent signing, and other incidentals.
May 26 to May 30: The contractor should complete the sanitary sewer and water relocations. Communication utilities should continue their relocation work.
Traffic Impacts: Pioneer Road between CTH V and Fond du Lac Avenue is closed to traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
CTH K – STH 23 to USH 151
Schedule: May through August
Description: Fond du Lac County Highway Dept in partnership with the City of Fond du Lac are reconstructing this segment of CTH K. The construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete curb & gutter, asphalt roadway, permanent signing, and other incidentals.
May 25 to May 29: The County will continue excavating the roadway and installing base aggregate primarily north of the Sisters of St. Agnes properties. Traffic to Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope should access the facility from the south via STH 23.
Traffic Impacts: CTH K between STH 23 and USH 151 is closed to traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Western Avenue – Military Road to Main Street
Macy Street – Court Street to Western Avenue
Schedule: April 27 through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, traffic signals and restoration/landscaping.
May 26 to May 30: Sewer contractor will continue with storm main installation on Western Avenue, complete a water tie-in near Main Street and finish up connecting water main to the bore under the Fond du lac River. The second sewer crew will also continue with storm main installation on Western Avenue between Military Road and the bridge. They will finish storm sewer laterals mid-week. Boring contractor will finish their water main bore under the Fond du Lac River early in the week. The grading contractor will begin cutting road and placing aggregate later in the week.

Traffic Impacts Macy Street is closed to traffic at Court Street. Macy Street will be two-way traffic from Second Street to Court Street.
Ruggles Street – S. Hickory Street to Mary’s Avenue
Schedule: May through July
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, and restoration/landscaping.
May 26 to May 30: Sewer contractor will begin with Sanitary and water lateral installation.
Traffic Impacts: Ruggles Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Lincoln Avenue Storm Sewer – Portage Street to 200 FT south
Thomas Street – Lincoln Avenue to Fond du Lac River
Schedule: April through May
Description: The project includes storm sewer and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
May 26 to May 30: The concrete contractor will begin setting string for curb and gutter and forming sidewalk and pavement mid- week.
Traffic Impacts: Thomas Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. Temporary No Parking on South Side of Thomas Street until work is completed.
Montana Street – Lake Street to N. Hickory Street
Schedule: May through June
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
May 26 to May 30v: The concrete contractor will begin setting forms for curb and gutter and driveway mid- week.
Traffic Impacts: Montana Street is closed to traffic from Lake Street to N. Hickory Street.
Morris Street – W. 9th Street to W. 12th Street
Schedule: May through September
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, and restoration/landscaping.
May 26 to May 30: Sewer contractor will begin with the main water installation at W. 9th Street moving south.
Traffic Impacts: Morris Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
