The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.
All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent.
County Road K – STH 23 to USH 151 – Fond du Lac County Highway Dept
Schedule: May through October
Description: Work related to the project include full excavation of the road corridor, storm sewer installation, inlets, cross culvert installation, driveway, curb and gutter, base installation, grading, paving and restoration. Thanks again for your patience.
May 11 to May 15: The 1.25 mile highway reconstruction project has begun and is scheduled to last through the summer months with paving to occur sometime late August depending on weather and unforeseen delays.
Traffic Impacts: County Trunk Highway K from STH 23 north to USH 151 is closed to thru traffic. Residents and businesses who reside on this section of CTH K will still have access, but it may be limited at time on how to get to the location based off the area crews are working on. Please be patient and drive extremely carefully if you live or need to access areas within the work zone.
Pioneer Road – CTH V to Fond du Lac Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: Fond du Lac County Highway Dept in partnership with the City of Fond du Lac are reconstructing this segment of Pioneer Road. The construction includes common excavation, sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, concrete sidewalk and curb & gutter, asphalt roadway, roadway lighting, permanent signing, and other incidentals.
May 11 to May 15: The contractor will start sanitary sewer laterals and continue with water laterals.
Traffic Impacts: Pioneer Road between CTH V and Fond du Lac Avenue is closed to traffic. Residents may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Western Avenue – Military Road to Main Street
Macy Street – Court Street to Western Avenue
Schedule: April 27 through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, traffic signals and restoration/landscaping.
May 11 to May 15: Sewer contractor will begin with water main installation at the intersection of Court Street and Macy Street and continue to the south down Macy Street to Western Avenue. The second sewer crew will begin sanitary sewer installation on Western Avenue between Military Road and the bridge.
Traffic Impacts: Western Avenue is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, jurors and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Traffic Impacts Macy Street is closed to traffic at Court Street. Macy Street will be two-way traffic from Second Street to Court Street. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Lincoln Avenue Storm Sewer – Portage Street to 200 FT south
Thomas Street – Lincoln Avenue to Fond du Lac River
Schedule: April through May
Description: The project includes storm sewer and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
May 11 to May 15: The storm sewer contractor will finish installing storm sewer main on Thomas Street. The grading contractor will begin excavating road to subgrade and placing base. Concrete contractor may begin setting forms for curb and gutter and sidewalk at the end of the week.
Traffic Impacts: Thomas Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours. Temporary No Parking on South Side of Thomas Street until work is completed.
Montana Street – Lake Street to N. Hickory Street
Schedule: May through June
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, and restoration/landscaping.
May 11 to May 15: Concrete contractor will begin setting forms for concrete pavement and curb and gutter.
Traffic Impacts: Montana Street is closed to traffic from Lake Street to N. Hickory Street. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Ruggles Street – S. Hickory Street to Marys Avenue
Schedule: May through July
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting, and restoration/landscaping.
May 11 to May 15: Sewer contractor will begin with water main installation at the intersection of Marys Avenue and continue west towards Hickory Street.
Traffic Impacts: Ruggles Street is closed to traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
