The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.
Promen Drive Bridge Replacement
Schedule: June 16 through November 7
Description: In partnership with the WI Department of Transportation the project includes replacing the existing bridge structure and approaches.
October 6 to October 10: Crews completed the south parapet pour and will form and pour the north parapet on Monday. Once concrete pour is completed the bridge deck false work and forms will be removed and loaded out. The grading contractor will complete the grading the west side of the bridge and will begin grading the east side.
Traffic Impacts: Promen Drive Bridge will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic within Lakeside Park.
2025 Fond du Lac Concrete Rehabilitation
Schedule: September through October
Description: The project includes various concrete pavement, storm inlet, and manhole rehabilitation work. Streets where repair work will occur:
- Scott Street from Main Street to Park Avenue
- National Avenue from Stow Street to Scott Street
October 6 to October 10: Crews will continue to remove deteriorated concrete panels and pouring of concrete patches.
Traffic Impacts: The above streets will have partial closures and lane restriction. Please follow detours in a few locations and be “Cautious” when driving through the work zone, as lane widths are restricted.
Cottage Avenue – E. Division Street to Maple Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
October 6 to October 10: The utility contractor will finish Storm sewer laterals early in the week. Grading contractor will begin road excavation mid-week.
Traffic Impacts: Cottage Avenue is closed to traffic from E. Division Street to Maple Avenue. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades.
Oaklawn Avenue – E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
October 6 to October 10: The utility contractor will begin water main installation mid-week.
Traffic Impacts: Oaklawn Ave remains open to traffic; however, will close when watermain installation begins.
E. Merrill Avenue – Cottage Avenue to DeNeveu Creek
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
October 6 to October 10: Utility contractor will begin water and sanitary lateral installation mid-week
Traffic Impacts: E. Merrill Avenue is closed to traffic from Cottage Avenue to DeNeveu Creek. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
