City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update

The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.

Promen Drive Bridge Replacement
Schedule: June 16 through fall of 2025
Description: In partnership with the WI Department of Transportation the project includes replacing the existing bridge structure and approaches.
September 15 to September 19: Crews completed the bridge decking, pouring the four outer bridge wings, storm sewer installation and pavement removal on the west side of the bridge. The contractor will finish forming and tying steel for bridge deck and then pour the bridge deck and stain lower wings.
Traffic Impacts: Promen Drive Bridge will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic within Lakeside Park.

Bridge Rehabilitation and Maintenance
Schedule: July 7 through fall of 2025
Description: The project includes bridge deck asphalt & polymer overlay, surface repair, riprap, sidewalk, approach paving and railing painting.
September 15 to September 19: Re-installing the refurbished railing on the E. Scott Street bridge over DeNeveu Creek has been postponed for a week. Crew will complete the bridge deck overlay repairs on the W. Scott Street bridge over the Fond du Lac River.
Traffic Impacts: W. Scott Street bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction to allow crews to repair the bridge deck epoxy overlay. This work is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

Algoma Street – E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue
Schedule: June through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 15 to September 19: The excavating contractor will rough grade terraces early in the week. The electrical contractor will set access boxes and light poles. Restoration contractor will begin placing topsoil, seed, and hydromulch.
Traffic Impacts: Algoma Street is closed to traffic from E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades.

Cottage Avenue – E. Division Street to Maple Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 15 to September 19: The utility contractor will continue with sanitary and water laterals between Merrill Ave and Division St. The directional drilling contractor will install water main from Merrill Ave to Maple Ave.
Traffic Impacts: Cottage Avenue is closed to traffic from E. Division Street to Maple Avenue. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.

Oaklawn Avenue – E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 15 to September 19: No Work Anticipated.
Traffic Impacts: Oaklawn Ave remains open to traffic.

E. Merrill Avenue – Cottage Avenue to DeNeveu Creek
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 15 to September 19: No Work Anticipated.
Traffic Impacts: E. Merrill Avenue is closed to traffic from Cottage Avenue to DeNeveu Creek. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
