City of Fond du Lac – Weekly Construction Update
The City of Fond du Lac is providing a weekly update on construction projects located within the corporate boundary. The Weekly Construction Updates and Construction Map are posted on the City’s Website at www.fdl.wi.gov.
All anticipated construction activities are weather dependent.
Main Street/Court Street – Merrill Avenue to Sixth Street
Schedule: April 7 through August 29
Description: The project includes fiber, private lead service replacement, repairs to curb, gutter, crosswalks/ramps, utility structures, water main replacement between Court St & Western Ave and milling and overlaying asphalt surface.
May 9 to May 16: Main Street excavation contractor will prep and begin storm/sanitary removal/replacements in Phase 1 from Merrill Avenue to First Street. The private lead service contractor continues lead service replacements between First Street and Second Street. The fiber contractor will continue fiber placement on Main Street, working their way south between Western and Second Street.
Traffic Impacts: Main Street will remain open to traffic and customers throughout the project with the exception of street resurfacing. Access to businesses in the downtown throughout the project will be maintained, although there may be minor disruptions. On-street parking will have limitations throughout the project; however side street parking and city lots will remain available to visitors of the downtown.
N. Butler Street – Division Street to Russell Street
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
May 9 to May 16: The contractor will continue with sanitary main and begin laterals later in the week.
Traffic Impacts: N Butler Street will be closed to through traffic from Division Street to Russell Street. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” signs. It is illegal to drive past a “ROAD CLOSED” sign or to move any construction barricades. Parking is not permitted on the street within the construction zone during working hours.
Poplar Street – Hickory Street to Military Road
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
May 9 to May 16: No Work Anticipated
Traffic Impacts: Poplar Street remains open to traffic.
Algoma Street – E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
May 9 to May 16: Alliant Energy’s contractor continues work on gas main/lateral replacements.
Traffic Impacts: Algoma Street remains open to traffic.
Cottage Avenue – E. Division Street to Maple Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
May 9 to May 16: Alliant Energy’s contractor continues work on gas main/lateral replacements.
Traffic Impacts: Cottage Ave remains open to traffic.
Oaklawn Avenue – E. Division Street to E. Merrill Avenue
Schedule: April through October
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
