Cherry Announced to Take Over Marian Track and Field

Dujuan Cherry has been announced as the head coach for the Marian University track and field program.

Cherry served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Milwaukee Lutheran, from 2019-2022.  The Red Knights qualified for state all three seasons in several relays and mid-distance events.  He then joined the coaching staff at Greendale High School serving as a coach for sprints, relays, and jumping events.  In his first season with the Panthers, all of the Greendale boys relay teams qualified for state, the first time in the program’s history.

“My goal is to develop a Christian student-athlete experience, promote a positive team culture, mindset surrounding growth, and competitive greatness,” said Cherry.  “I believe, in my heart, that God created us 100-percent whole with gifts and talents that go unexplored because we only discover two percent of what lies inside us.  Greatness lives inside all of us, and our coaches, teachers, mentors, parents, peers, and almighty God help us bring out the very best in our lives.  I’m excited to take over the track and field program at Marian University.”

His primary focus areas are speed and power, including sprints, jumps, relays, and multi-events for the Sabre track and field program.  As a coach, Cherry aims to cultivate a program that produces whole student-athletes who will succeed on and off the track.
