Marian University field hockey (4-3, 0-0 CFHC) went toe-to-toe with Centre but fell to the Colonels 1-0.

- The opening quarter saw a lot of offense, but most of the game was a defensive battle in the middle of the field.
- The Colonels nearly scored in the first quarter but the goal was disallowed after the ball had been ruled to be over the goal line boundary.
- That proved to be the only quality scoring opportunity until the third quarter.
- Junior Jikke Biemans had a breakaway opportunity with 1:30 left in the third quarter but was denied before a rebound from fellow junior Allyson Nichols missed just wide.
- Then with just 1:21 remaining in the game, Centre managed to send a shot across the arc off of a penalty corner that was tapped in for the lone goal of the game.

- Centre outshot the Sabres 14-10 and had a 12-7 advantage for shots on goal.
- Marian outshot Centre in the third quarter 3-0.
- The Colonels had a hefty 9-2 edge for penalty corners.
- Centre has won all five meetings in the all-time series with this being the second one-goal victory for the Colonels.
