Healing the Healers: Care, Advocate, Reset, Educate

Fri, Apr 10, 2026, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Marian University, Fond du Lac, WI

This meaningful morning conference is designed for anyone who helps others in their profession—including social workers, educators, healthcare providers, counselors, first responders, and human service professionals. Healing the Healers offers a powerful opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with purpose while gaining practical tools for resilience and well-being.

Attendees will hear from an inspiring lineup of speakers who bring both professional insight and lived experience:

Cindy Martinez, the central voice behind “Too Young, Too Soon” by K.D. Kinz, will share her deeply personal story of trauma, grief, and resilience—highlighting the strength that can emerge through healing and hope. Books for purchase at registration or at conference. Book signing at the end of the conference.

Jessica O’Neel, MSW,CSW will guide participants through engaging topics focused on mental health, recovery, and sustainable wellness practices for those in helping roles, encouraging reflection and actionable self-care strategies.

Dr. Ryan Dronek, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Marian University, will draw from his former work as a police detective to share powerful insights into the emotional toll of helping professions and the challenges many of his colleagues faced in coping with trauma, stress, and burnout.

The conference is intentionally designed as a morning to reset, be rejuvenated, and be educated. Participants will enjoy a delicious breakfast bar, have chances to win participation prizes, and engage in meaningful conversations centered on care, advocacy, and resilience.

Four (4) CEUs will be provided.

Whether you are early in your career or a seasoned professional, this conference offers space to reflect, learn, and leave feeling grounded, supported, and re-energized for the important work you do.
