Senior Lexi Brakebush of Marian University women’s basketball closes out her career being named to the All-NACC Second Team.
Brakebush (Oxford, Wis.) was the top scorer for Marian in her final season to earn her first all-conference award. She had a career year in several categories including her scoring average of 13.8 points per game. Brakebush also had 50 assists and 42 steals along with 104 total rebounds, or 4.2 per game. She finished with double-digit points in 18 games this season including four performances of at least 20 points. Her first such gam came against Lakeland where she had 23 points to go with three steals. Her next pair of games with at least 20 points came in back-to-back victories against Alverno and Illinois Tech. She opened that week with a double-double against Alverno scoring 20 points with 11 rebounds and three steals. She then scored a carer-high 30 points against Illinois Tech to cap a week that earned her NACC Player of the Week recognition. Brakebush finished the regular season first in the NACC, 32nd in the nation, shooting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc. She closes out her Marian career, fifth all-time for made free throws and 10th all-time for made three-pointers
