Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrates One Year at New Mentoring Center

September marks the one-year anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County (BBBS) moving into their new building. The organization is celebrating this exciting milestone as well as the progress of their $1.95M “Building Connection, Inspiring Potential” capital campaign.

BBBS has spent the past year transforming their new building into a welcoming hub for youth, volunteers, and families. From creating the B Hive, a dedicated afterhours space for Bigs and Littles to gather, to expanding site-based program offerings right at the office, the new building has already begun to fulfill its promise of connection and growth.

“The generosity of our community will have a lasting impact toward the betterment of our programs and services,” says BBBS Board President Mike Roseanu.

The organization has seen inspiring support from local businesses, foundations, and individual donors. Key contributors include the National Exchange Bank Foundation with naming rights to the mentoring center and Society Insurance with naming rights to the B Hive kitchen. BBBS publicly announced the campaign in July, inviting the community to help make the new building a long-term home for mentorship. Funds raised will continue to enhance the facility, sustain programming, and allow BBBS to reach more young people waiting for mentors.

“This campaign helps to ensure that BBBS will have not just a safe location for our Littles, but also allows the organization to have the financial stability to increase programs for our patrons,” says Campaign Chair Ryan Kamphuis.

BBBS would like to extend a special thank you to the major donors who have helped them reach an incredible $1.25M of their $1.95M goal so far: 5G Benefits & Insurance, Adashun Jones, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, Ahern, Baumhardt Sand & Gravel, BCI Burke, Bristol Morgan Bank, C.D. Smith Construction, Cardinal Construction, Drexel Building Supply, Fox Valley Savings Bank, Grande Cheese Company, Holiday Automotive, Horicon Bank, Integrity Saw & Tool, Matt & Adriana Sipiorski, National Exchange Bank Foundation, Rademann Stone, Silica For Your Home, Sisters of St. Agnes, Society Insurance, and Summit Automotive.

“Never having done a capital campaign before, we weren’t sure what to expect,” says Executive Director Tammy Young. “This community has a long history of supporting BBBS and this time was no exception.”
