Biemans, Potter Take First Sabre of the Month Honors for 2024-25

Junior Jikke Biemans of Marian field hockey and freshman Josh Potter of Marian men’s golf have been named the Sabres of the Month for September.

Biemans (Rijen, Netherlands) had a dominating start to the season and was one of the top scorers in the nation during September. She went for 12 goals with five assists for 29 total points with two game-winning goals as Marian field hockey opened the season 5-4 with a 1-1 CFHC record. Biemans had five multi-game performances recording hat tricks against CUW and Eastern Mennonite. She also had an assist in the win over EMU for a seven-point game. She ends September third in the nation with 1.50 goals per game and 3.63 points per game, and 19th in the country with 0.63 assists per game.

Potter (Belleville, Wis.) had a strong start to his career with the Sabre men’s golf program. He competed in all nine rounds averaging 77.9 strokes per round. Potter had three of the five lowest rounds on the squad. His top round was a one-over-par 73 at the second round of the Midwest Region Classic, and had a two-over-par 73 at the opening round of the Culver’s Edgewood Fall Classic. Potter finished the month of September with five rounds below 80 strokes. At the Midwest Region Classic, Potter had a 76 and 73 to finish in a tie for 58th out of 244 golfers.
