Bartels earns All-NACC recognition

Junior Harley Bartels of Marian Univeristy women’s volleyball has been named All-NACC Honorable Mention.

Bartels (Holmen, Wis.) had another strong season out of the middle for the Sabres earning her first all-conference selection.  She ranked third on the team with a career-high 251 kills for the season and hit efficiently finishing with a team-high .256 attack percentage.  At the net, she also had a career year finishing with 24 solo blocks, more than her first two seasons combined, and 41 assisted blocks for 65 total rejections.  In her first full season being a server, Bartels went on to record 19 service aces, sixth on the team.  This all culminated into 314.5 points for the season, 2.81 points per set, which was good for second on the squad.  Bartels had double-digit kills in 12 matches this season with a career-high 16 kills coming against Concordia College and Coe.  She also had five matches on the campaign where she had at least four total blocks.  Bartels finished the season strong recording 21 kills over the final seven sets with a .432 hitting percentage, seven blocks, and seven service aces.
