Ayeni, Vogt selected as Sabres of the Month for November

Juniors Andrew Ayeni of Marian University men’s basketball and Delanie Vogt of Marian University women’s bowling have been selected as the Sabres of the Month for November.

Andrew Ayeni • Junior • Men’s Basketball

Ayeni (Chicago, Ill.) had a strong start to his second campaign at Marian.  He averaged 16.0 points per game with 5.0 rebounds per game over the opening month of the season.  Ayeni had at least 10 points in all four games of November including a season-high 23 in the season opener at UW-Superior.  He added seven rebounds and two blocks in the win over UWS.  Ayeni also had a 19-point performance in a 105-73 victory over Saint Mary’s (Minn.). From the field, Ayeni was 25-of-46 (.543) and had six steals on the defensive end.

Delanie Vogt • Junior • Women’s Bowling

Vogt (Horicon, Wis.) anchored the Sabre women’s bowling team during the first month of the season.  She led the team with a 181.3 average and finished in the top 25 of all five events during November.  Vogt finished sixth at the GLBC II Event after averaging 181.6 before placing third at the Bearcat Invitational with a 207.6 average.  Her performance at the Bearcat Invitational earned her CCIW Bowler of the Week recognition.  Vogt finished the month with the 13th-best average at the opening CCIW meet of the season.
