Action Plan for Youth Apprentices (YA) Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

In light of the recent mandated statewide shutdown of all schools (K-12), public and private, within the State of Wisconsin, the Fond du Lac School to Work Youth Apprenticeship Program advises the following:

  1. Students participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program, the school-based learning opportunity with local employers, should not report to work as long as school is closed in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
  2. Governor Evers established a date of April 6, 2020 as a date to reconvene schools throughout the State; we will re-evaluate this situation the week of March 30 to determine next steps, including the return to work sites. Information will be communicated to counselors, students, parents and mentors.

The safety of our students, and our employers, is always first and foremost. We understand this is a disruption to learning, normal routines and our workforce; however, if everyone participates in exercising caution and common sense, the hope is that we return to our way of life sooner, rather than later.
