Nonprofit organizations serving rural communities in Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties are invited to apply for the Rural Vitality Grant, a funding opportunity made possible through the generosity of Compeer Financial. Applications are now being accepted through November 15.
The Rural Vitality Grant is administered jointly by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation, creating an opportunity for eligible nonprofits in both counties to access funding that supports the long-term vitality and sustainability of rural communities.
Grant requests may range from $10,000 to $50,000 and are intended to support the launch and establishment of new programs or projects, as well as the enhancement of existing services that strengthen rural communities. Nonprofits may apply for either one-time funding or multi-year support, with priority given to proposals seeking multi-year funding that demonstrate long-term impact and sustainability.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County that serve communities with populations under 10,000 or rural micropolitan areas with populations under 50,000. The cities of Fond du Lac and Beaver Dam are not eligible due to population requirements.
Funding is available for projects and programs in the following areas:
- Agriculture
- Community Development
- Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
- Housing Expansion
- Youth and Adult Leadership Development
- Rural Education
- Workforce Development
“The Rural Vitality Grant is designed to invest in innovative ideas and sustainable solutions that help rural communities thrive,” said Executive Director Greg Giles of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. “By partnering with Compeer Financial and collaborating across county lines, we can support organizations that are building stronger, more vibrant communities throughout the region.”
