Marian University women’s volleyball (4-11, 0-2 NACC) was defeated in straight sets by Aurora, who is receiving votes in the national poll, and Carroll at home.
 

 
VS. (RV) AURORA (L, 3-0, 25-15, 25-17-19)

• Marian played better as the match went along but struggled on the offensive end.
• Aurora wasted no time jumping out to a 9-3 lead to open the match.
• The Spartans built their lead to as large as 11 points before taking the set.
• The second set opened at a 6-6 stalemate before Aurora scored six straight points.
• Marian was able to cut that deficit down to three but the Spartans responded and cruised to take the set.
• The Sabres had a strong start to the third opening with a 9-4 lead.
• Marian brought that advantage out to 12-9 before Aurora scored five unanswered to lead 14-12.
• The Sabres retook the lead at 17-16, but the Spartans answered ending the match on an 8-3 run.

VS. CARROLL (L, 3-0, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17)

• Marian found themselves ahead 14-12 to open the second match of the day and used a 5-1 spurt to lead 19-13.
• The Pioneers immediately responded to that run scoring eight straight points to take the lead.
• A service error was the only thing to slow down Carroll as they then scored four straight to end the set.
• The Sabres bounced back jumping ahead 9-3 to start the second set.
• Marian took the lead out to 21-19 before another comeback saw Carroll score six of the final seven points to lead 2-0.
• After a seesaw start to the third, Carroll had a run of four straight points to lead 13-7.
• Marian cut this lead down to 18-15 before the Pioneers ended the match with a 7-2 run.

VS. (RV) AURORA

• Aurora held a 39-25 edge in kills and had a 57-50 advantage in digs.
• The Sabre offense was limited to nine or fewer kills in all three sets and a hitting percentage of .063.
• Marian is now 7-23 all-time against Aurora having dropped 13 straight matches.

VS. CARROLL

• Carroll had a 43-34 edge in kills, but Marian held the advantage in digs at a 70-66 clip.
• The Pioneers had at least 14 kills in each set and hit .276 in the match.
• Each team had six service aces.
• Marian falls to 9-12 all-time against Carroll with this being the first meeting since 2019.

	Khloe Walling had 13 kills and hit .500 between the two matches.
	Sofia Rodriguez had a match-high for digs in each match finishing the day with 43 digs.
	Scarlett Smith had seven kills and a block assist in each match.
