Anthony Koenigs has been announced as the next head coach for the Marian University ACHA Division III program. 

Koenigs join the Marian Athletic Department after playing at the ACHA Division III level for Grand Canyon University.  He skated in 50 games during his time at Grand Canyon scoring six goals with 11 assists for 17 total points.  His final season saw Koenigs help lead GCU to their first winning season going 17-8-0 with a 6-1-0 record in WCHC play.   

“I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead the ACHA Division III program at Marian University,” said Koenigs. “Having grown up in the Fond du Lac area, it means a lot to me to have the opportunity to coach here and give back to the local hockey community. I am looking forward to building a competitive culture centered around accountability, hard work, and being a great teammate. Most importantly I want our student-athletes to enjoy showing up to classes and the rink each day bettering themselves now and for the future.” 

A native to Mount Calvary, Wis., Koenigs skated for St. Mary’s Springs Academy during his high school career.  While with the Ledgers, he played in 31 games scoring a pair of goals with three assists for five total points.  All of his career points came in his final season.  He was also a part of back-to-back WIAA State Championships at SMSA in 2020 and 2021. 

Koenigs earned his bachelor’s degree in business analytics from Grand Canyon University.
