Marian University men’s soccer (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) fell 4-0 to Carthage to open the season.
 

• Carthage came out strong in the opening half, controlling possession and outshooting Marian 8-2 while taking a 3-0 lead into halftime.
• The Sabres looked to respond coming out of the break, generating five shots in the second half after recording just two in the opening 45 minutes.
• Carthage continued to create offensive pressure in the second half, recording 12 shots and adding one more goal to extend its lead to 4-0.
• The Sabres were unable to score despite creating more offensive opportunities in the second half, falling 4-0 to Carthage.

• Carthage outshot Marian 20-7, with an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal.
• Carthage held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
• Marian committed eight fouls compared to 11 for Carthage.
• Both teams were called offside once, while Marian received the only yellow card of the match.
• Marian is now 0-3-1 all-time against the Firebirds.

	Zac Pfister led Marian with three shots.
	Tyler Hall (0-1-0) recorded four saves in goal,
	Freshman Fernando Mota recorded two shots, including Marian’s lone shot on goal.
