Plan highlights City’s strong financial position, key investment areas for upcoming year
The City of Fond du Lac has released its proposed 2027 Budget and Capital Improvement Plan for public review. The proposal reflects the City’s balanced budget and healthy reserve and directs investments toward street reconstruction, public safety facilities, and park amenities. The City Council is scheduled to vote on the finalized budget on Wednesday, November 11.
“The 2027 Budget and Capital Improvement Plan is designed to ensure the City’s financial support across all of our departments and services so we can continue to best serve our residents,” said City Manager Joe Moore. “The City’s financial position is strong, and that gives us the ability to invest in the services and amenities residents notice every day.”
Key investments outlined in the plan include reconstructing Division Street between Marr Street and Park Street, widening Pioneer Road and adding a pedestrian trail to improve accessibility and account for heavy vehicular traffic, completing the exterior renovation to the Police Department, and repainting the historic locomotive at Lakeside Park, among others.
Residents are encouraged to attend the City Council’s annual budget meeting on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (160 S. Macy St) to learn more about the proposal and share their input ahead of the November vote.
