Marian University field hockey received 16 points to finish fourth in the CFHC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches of the league.
Mary Washington was picked as the favorite to win the conference after receiving 29 total points and four of the first-place tallies. Rhodes picked up the final two first-place votes to finish just two points behind the Eagles. Sewanee then finished third with 22 points, followed by Marian and Centre who were separated by just one point at 16 and 15, respectively. Concordia Wisconsin closed out the preseason poll with 11 points.
The six squads in the CFHC will play each other once in conference play during the regular season with Marian opening against in-state rival Concordia Wisconsin on the road Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. The six teams will then square off in the CFHC Tournament to be held Nov. 5-8 from Concordia Wisconsin. For the first time in the history of the conference, the tournament winner will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

Marian opens its season on the road at Ohio Wesleyan Saturday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. (EDT) before he first home games of the season against DePauw and Wittenberg Sept. 12-13. Both of those games are scheduled to begin at noon from Smith Field.
