SSM Health Hospice Home of Hope recognizes meal serving volunteers

Cindy Lou Konen, an SSM Health Hospice Home of Hope meal serving volunteer, has been named the newest recipient of the BEE (Be Exceptional Everyday) Award.

Konen was nominated by Cari Zuengler, Hospice Home of Hope lead registered nurse. “Not only does she come in with a smile every day, but she is also very empathetic to our patients and families here at the Hospice Home of Hope. She works well with our staff and alerts us if she feels a patient needs care. She always has a hug ready for a family that is grieving too!”

Martha Thuecks was also nominated by Zuengler and received the Certification of Nomination. “Martha is soft spoken but do not let that fool you because she is a huge advocate for our residents,” Zuengler wrote. “She will attempt to go above and beyond with anything they would like from the kitchen.”

Hospice Home of Hope Volunteer Coordinator Kristin Moderow says, “Both volunteers are very deserving of this award; they are both a true reflection of SSM Health’s Mission and Values. I couldn’t be prouder to have them on our volunteer team.”

The BEE Award is specifically designed to recognize non-nursing staff members who demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills, collaboration, professionalism, exemplary service, and a commitment to excellence.
