- Founded by proven operators. Launched in December 2020 by Angie’s List co-founder Bill Oesterle, alongside CEO Mike Rutz and COO Evan Hock. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Trusted and proven. Featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and on the Today Show, and powers relocation programs for local governments, chambers, and economic development organizations nationwide.

How is this critical economic development initiative being funded?
Envision Greater Fond du Lac was awarded a $346,000 Talent Recruitment Grant through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). The grant was created and funded by the Wisconsin State Legislature as part of the state budget to help communities attract qualified workers from outside Wisconsin. While Wisconsin has invested in talent attraction for decades, this new competitive grant program gives communities additional resources to recruit working professionals and families where workforce shortages are most acute. Envision’s goal is to attract 32 new households to live and work in Fond du Lac County over the next two years.
These are working professionals and families who will relocate here permanently—buying homes, enrolling kids in school, joining gyms, shopping local, and building long-term roots. Envision Greater Fond du Lac also committed $120,000 of our own cash to support this effort.
This initiative truly requires community-wide engagement. We welcome support from realtors, schools, employers, community organizations, local businesses, and residents who can provide helpful information, resources, connections, or incentives that showcase what makes our community a great place to live. Whether it’s sharing housing options, highlighting local amenities, introducing newcomers to community groups, or contributing items and experiences to our relocation incentive package, every contribution helps create a warm and successful welcome for new movers.
How will success be measured?
MakeMyMove tracks applications, completed moves, household income relocated, and new residents retained – and report results to our board, county partners, and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).
Who’s eligible to apply to move?
Applicants must currently reside outside of Wisconsin and move to Fond du Lac County.
