Properly dispose of confidential paper documents in our upcoming drive-thru shredding event
SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital, 620 W. Brown Street, is inviting the public to bring personal and confidential home office papers in need of safe and secure disposal to a free drive-thru paper shredding event from 11 am – 1 pm on Wednesday, May 3.
To prevent identity theft, proper disposal of documents that contain private information is important. SSM Health is partnering with Iron Mountain Information Management, LLC, to shred confidential documents which will ultimately be recycled to make paper towels, napkins, tissue, and toilet paper.
Participants can enter off Beaver Dam behind the new two-story patient care building (before the Emergency Department) – watch for signs – and a volunteer will help unload papers into the shredding truck on-site. They will then proceed past the helicopter pad and onto Elm Avenue. The first 50 participants will receive an insulated reusable bag.

Examples of documents are appropriate to shred:
- bank statements
- credit card statements
- invoices
- anything with your name & address on it
No need to remove paper clips, binder clips or staples. The shredding event is intended for personal, sensitive documents only. Residents should recycle magazines, junk mail and other waste paper with their municipal recycling program.
Participants are reminded that pre-shredded, damp, or wet paper is not accepted at this event. Those items should be discarded at home, with regular household waste. Other unacceptable items:
- cardboard, plastics
- common trash, hazardous materials
- three ring binders
- CDs/DVDs, computers
- magnetic media, X-rays
