Marian University softball (10-6, 4-2 NACC) was defeated by Dominican 4-0 and 2-0 to open the weekend.
GAME 1
- Dominican plated a run in the opening inning but the game was mostly a pitching duel from there.
- The Sabres threatened in the fourth inning putting a pair of runners in scoring position, but a double play from the Stars ended the threat.
- The Stars took advantage in the bottom half scoring two runs to lead 3-0.
- Dominican would tack on a run in the sixth and allowed just one Marian base runner over the final three innings.
GAME 2
- Both pitching staffs continued to deal in game two with neither squad scoring through the first three innings.
- In the end, all it took was a run in the fourth and a run in the fifth for the Stars to secure a sweep.
- The Stars would allow only one Sabre to reach scoring position in the second inning.
